Join Her Artistic Journey
Painting began early in my life. Even though I followed other paths, like being a teacher, I always found time for art—whether it was helping children paint or creating my own pieces. After I retired, I found my love for painting again through classes at a Senior Center with a kind instructor who helped me discover my own creative style.
I’ve mostly taught myself how to paint, with no formal training. I’ve learned by watching the world around me and practicing. I like working with colors, often starting with a bold background to make the rest of the painting stand out. I prefer using acrylic paints because they’re easy to work with and let me fix things as I go.
I don’t see myself as a traditional artist, but others have enjoyed my work. I’ve sold many pieces to friends and neighbors, and their support has encouraged me to keep going. Some of my favorite pieces are a winter landscape and a simple ocean scene, both of which now belong to people who appreciated their calm and peaceful feeling.

For me, painting is not just a hobby but a meditative process. It helps me see the world in a new way, noticing the little details and colors in nature. As I paint, I’ve learned to look closely at my work, always trying to find the right balance, contrast, and emotion in each piece.
I’m thankful to my grandson for encouraging me to share my work through this website. I hope my art brings joy to those who see it, just like creating it brings joy to me!
